This project is a series of imagined special edition Blu-ray/DVD releases of films for the Criterion Collection, a brand focused on the licensing, restoring, and distributing of "important classic and contemporary films." With their DVD release’s incredible array of special features, and their unique commissioned cover designs, these products are true celebrations of the art of film. Each cover design has a graphic and poster-like feel and captures the vibe of a film in its simple yet highly symbolic imagery. For this series of cover designs, an illustrative, yet realistic, approach is taken to convey the imagery of the films. The illustration style conveys stylization with its rich vibrant color palettes; and realism, with its detailed and truthfully rendered film moments.
